Howard Preston Watson

KERNERSVILLE - Reverend Howard P. Watson, Sr., 74, of Kernersville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2015. He was born September 9, 1940 in Bristol, VA to the late Homer and Hazel Watson. He pastored close to 40 years, first in NC, VA, WY and IN in the Bible Methodist Church. He then pastored in PA in the God's Missionary Church. Then he joined the Bible Holiness Conference after moving to Kernersville.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Watson.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Hazel M. Watson; four children, Howard Preston Watson, Jr. (wife, Gwyn), Teresa Shaw (husband, Milan), Paula Terpenning (husband, Brian), and Pam Henniger; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and seven siblings: James Watson, Beulah Mitchell, Barbara Saunders, Robert Watson, Garland Watson, Phyllis Markwood and Beverly Keen.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, February 2, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the Novant staff at Kernersville Medical Center, Forsyth Medical Center CICU and Palliative Care.
