Howard Maynard Rayfield

Mr. Howard Maynard Rayfield, 83, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Howard was born February 2, 1933 to the late Clyde and Fannie Rayfield. He was a 1952 graduate of James A. Gray High School and served in the U.S. Army after graduation. In his free time, Howard enjoyed classic cars and his biggest passion, playing golf. He leaves behind many friends at Wilshire Golf Club.

Howard is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Posey Rayfield; daughter, Cindy Johnson of Southport; son, Randy Rayfield and wife Debbie of Kernersville; grandchildren, Joel Rayfield, Amanda Mabe, Neil Johnson, and Taylor Johnson; great-grandchildren, Hallie and Logan; and sister, Jewel Henley.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 7 - 9 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A private family graveside service is planned with Rev. Andrew Goodson officiating.
