Howard Daniel Neidig

Winston-Salem -Mr. Howard Daniel Neidig, 91, formerly of Aspinwall, PA passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1920 in Palmyra, PA to the late George C. and Florence Yorty Neidig. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps on Iwo Jima. Mr. Neidig graduated from Duquesne University in 1952. He retired from Dravo-Doyle Co. where he had been Manager of Inside Sales. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a Past Master of the Zaradatha Lodge. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church of Sharpsburg, PA and volunteered for twenty years at St. Margaret's Hospital in Pittsburgh. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Eileen Neidig. Surviving is a daughter, Sheila Carlin (John) and a son, Howard D. Neidig, Jr. (Cindy); also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
