Homer Eugene "Gene" Quick

Walkertown – Mr. Homer Eugene “Gene” Quick, 83, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on July 10, 1940, in Randolph County, to Homer Baldwin and Annie Moore Quick. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964 and during the Korean Conflict. Homer enjoyed drag racing and fishing. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, other sports, and Western Movies. Homer retired from Hanes Brands after 35 years. Homer loved his family, and he will be deeply missed by them and those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas E. Quick and Donald R. Quick. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Hansley Quick; three children, Tammy Quick Reid (husband, Timothy) of Kenly, NC, Angela Quick Hawkins (husband, Glenn), and Michael Quick (wife, Brooke) all of Belews Creek; six grandchildren, Matthew Reid, Addison Reid, Zachary Hawkins (wife, Emily), Adam Hawkins, Tateum Quick, and Ella Quick; and one great grandchild, Miller Finney; and three siblings, Phillip Quick (wife, Janice), Roger Quick, and Brenda Rumple.
