Mr. Homer Franklin Pulliam, 90, passed away September 21, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1925 in Elkin, NC to the late Charles Arthur Pulliam and Ruth Pulliam. He was a charter member and deacon of Konnoak Baptist Church. Mr. Pulliam served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asian Pacific Theatre and was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill as a registered pharmacist. He retired from Crown Drug after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudine Pulliam and his brothers and sisters, Walter Pulliam, Charles Pulliam, Eunice DeBrito, Dailey Pulliam, David Pulliam, Beulah Roberts and Lorraine Grantham, and his son-in-law, Yancey Settle. Mr. Pulliam is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janeth McNeill Pulliam; a son, Darrell Pulliam and wife Pam; a daughter, Donna Settle; two step-sons, Jimmy Coward and Steven Coward and wife Anita; a step-daughter, Janet Jones and husband Rick; six grandchildren, Melissa Keeton, Sarah Pulliam, Brandon Coward, Anna Hall, Riley Jones, and Natalie Jones and five great-grandchildren, Carrie Barlow, Olivia Barlow, Landon Hall, Molly Kate Hall, and Regan Coward. The funeral service will be at 11:00am, Thursday, 9-24-15, at Konnoak Baptist Church, Rev. John Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Konnoak Baptist Church, 400 McLean Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
