Hobert Mabe

Asheboro- Mr. Hobert Clarence Mabe, 88, passed away, Friday, May 28, 2021. He was born on August 5, 1932 in Rockingham County to the late Roosevelt Mabe and Sally Mae Tilley Mabe. Hobert was a great father and grandfather. He was a hardworking man and was a wonderful provider for his family. He never met a stranger and seemed to know and speak to everyone he met. Hobert enjoyed yard work, fishing and golf. He could always be seen at the kids ball games, cheering them on. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by is wife Vera Estelle Tilley Mabe; son Allen Mabe; two sisters, Irene and Mary; two brothers Vernon (Doc) Mabe and Johnny Mabe. Surviving are his two daughters, Patsy Waddell (Lucky) and Debbie Callahan; two sons Clarence Mabe (Cindy) and Randy Mabe (Geneva); twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister Georgia Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Brian Matherlee officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
