GERMANTON Mr. Hobert Eugene Lawson, 90, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born in Stokes County on June 6, 1918 to the late Thomas Blaine Lawson and Delzen Tuttle Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a member of Corinth Church of Christ and was a retired carpenter and general contractor. In his later years he enjoyed wood working and tinkering with clocks, guns and just about anything else you can imagine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ila Tuttle and Irene Hill and two brothers, Bill Lawson and R.J. Lawson. Mr. Lawson is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Evoline Lawson of the home, one daughter, Kay Tuttle and husband Max of Germanton, two grandchildren, Lesa Hudgins and husband Tim and Kerry Tuttle and wife Sandy, three great-grandchildren, Joshua Hudgins, Nicholas Tuttle and Jordan Hudgins, two sisters, Geneva Aycock of SC and Inez Suleski of Germanton and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:30 Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Chester Montgomery, Minister and Peter Cain, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening Oct. 22, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to; Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.The family would like to send a warm heart felt thank you to the staff of Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation for their special care and kindness over the past several months. Additionally, the family would like to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and other staff who cared for us over the past month at Kate B. Reynolds.
