She never met a stranger and was always there when someone needed help. In addition to her parents and her spouse, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Jr. (Inez), Ashley “Cotton” (Violet), J. Van (Betty Lou), and David (Margaret); and four sisters, Lucille Kimball (Frank), Geneva Fox (Ward), Betty Stonestreet and Emily Lucas (Lacy). She is survived by her two children, Lynn Roberts (Billy) and Keith Shoaf (Tara); two grandchildren, Whitney Shoaf (Holly) and Caroline Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Braxton Shoaf; and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 there will only be a private graveside service for immediate family at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Trellis Supportive Care and the staff at Grayson Creek for showing Hilda they cared about her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, 430 Weisner St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Shoaf.
