Hilda Mae Futrell Pardue, 88, of Walkertown passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at her home. She was born January 28, 1922 in Forsyth County to Pete and Ida Hanes Futrell. Ms. Pardue was a loving mother who devoted herself to raising her three boys with love, support, encouragement and sacrifice. Her family was the love of her life. She was a Master Gardener and had many other interests. She was one of the charter members of the original ""Pink Ladies"" at Forsyth Medical Center as a volunteer. She was also an original member of the Snappy Tappers. She had a special love for her granddaughters and great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles Futrell and Pete Futrell, Jr., and two sisters, Ruth (Cissy) and Alice. Surviving is one sister, Martha of Mechanicsburg, PA, a brother, Ralph of Winston-Salem, three sons, Tommy Pardue and wife Pat of Winston-Salem, Michael Pardue and wife Brenda of Walkertown, and Joe Pardue of the home; granddaughters, Pam and Jonah Branan, and Beth and Joe Carlin; great granddaughters, Alexandria, Noelle and Charlotte Branan, all of Winston-Salem; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18 at Woodland Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
