PfafftownMrs. Hilda L. King Craig, 58, of Pfafftown, NC passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Craig was born on September 23, 1955 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Mr. Jefferson (J.D.) Davis King and Virginia King. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen. She attended Aberdeen High School and then went on to Mississippi University for Women receiving a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. A year following graduating college, she taught 7th grade at Hatley Middle School in Aberdeen. She then went to work at Schuler & Associates in Irving, TX. In 1981 she started working at Southland Corporation in Dallas, TX where she was Senior Programmer/Project Leader. Then in 1996 she was hired on at Sara lee Knit Products as Senior Systems Analysts. In April 1988, Hilda King and Phil Craig were married in Dallas with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. She was a proud member of Olivet Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Hilda really enjoyed listening to music, taking trips to the mountains, going to the beach and being outside planting flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is her husband, Phil of Pfafftown; son, Andrew of Charlotte, NC; step-daughter, Ashley Meade (Chuck) and their daughter, Zoey of Asheboro, NC; sister, Helen Whatley (Bill) of Fort Worth, TX and a brother, Murphy Evans (Sara) of Aberdeen. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Olivet Moravian Church with Rev. Doug Rights officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to thank her caregivers; Maira, Suzanne, and Pam and a special thanks to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and to the Elizabeth and Tab Williams Day Center.
