Herschel Keith Hooker

WINSTON - SALEM -Herschel Keith Hooker, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1940 in Frederick, OK to the late Hollis B. and Bertha Smith Hooker. Mr. Hooker retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He also was employed with Atlantic Aero in Greensboro for 5 years. Herschel was a former member of Faith Assembly of God, and Faith Christian Center. Surviving are his wife, Linda Thompson Hooker of the home; two daughters, Natalie R. Epps and husband Samuel of Alamance, and Kristy L. DeWalt of Winston Salem; two grandchildren, Blake Isaacs and Austin DeWalt; a brother, J.T. Hooker of Tipton, OK; two sisters, Darlene Evans of Farmington, NM and Donna Taucher of Tulsa, OK. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Roger E. Holland officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites in Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston Salem. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday, March 5, 2010 at the funeral home.
