Mr. Herbert Theron Dunn, 69, of Lewisville passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Dunn was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Glenn Dunn and Anna Rudolf Dunn on July 1, 1953.
Herb lived a very interesting and exciting life. Many of his accomplishments came from his time while he worked for the Peruvian Ministry of Defense as a special forces instructor in counter-terrorism in the late 80’s and early 90’s. He survived 3 assassination attempts and countless fire fights in his 10 years in Peru. His work was recognized world-wide and featured in Soldier of Fortune magazine twice and the Chicago Tribune. With his expertise, he later created a very successful security company, Epros which provided highly trained bodyguards to protect executives and Diplomatic figures.
While living in Peru, he had the pleasure of living life to the fullest and with his passion for animals, he would bring many home. He had different monkeys, Alpacas, a penguin, exotic birds and many more. He loved camping on the beach and off-roading the desert mountains.
Herb was a great story teller and people really enjoyed his company. He had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He made many friends over the years and valued them like family.
Most importantly, He was a Christian and had a close relationship with God. Any chance he had, he would spread the gospel with anyone. He is now with our lord and savior.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Dunn. He is survived by his wife, Kimmie Dunn; children, Matthew Dunn, Wendy Dunn and Rob Dunn (Cindy); grandchildren, Cameron, Paxton, Piper, Autumn and Mia; brother, Charles Robert Dunn; sisters, Darlene Yountz, Laura Clodfelter (Joe) and Ellie Kapinos (Walt); many nieces and nephews.
