Herbert "Buster" Gray Burton

Mr. Herbert ""Buster"" Gray Burton, 69, of Advance, died on February 28, 2017 at his residence. Herbert was born January 25, 1948 in Forsyth County to Johnnie William Burton, Sr. and Eupharzine Bodford Burton. He was a U.S. Army veteran and the maintenance supervisor for Alder Ridge Apartments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Burton Holder and Doris Burton Barnes; and one brother, Robin Scott Burton. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Velma Sink Burton; one daughter, Lisa Thurlo (Chad) of Mocksville; one son, Greg Burton (Jodi) of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Hunter Thurlo, Gray Thurlo, Carlee Burton, and Emilee Burton. Also surviving are six siblings, Abbie Burton Stanley, William Burton, Rodney Burton, James Burton, Shirley Burton Phelps, and Jr. Burton. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Cornerstone Christian Church of Mocksville with Rev. Kevin Frack and Pastor Paul Stutzman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
