Mr. Henry Lamar Veal, 75, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022.
Born September 26, 1946, in Troup County, GA, Mr. Veal was a veteran of service in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He lived in Fayetteville, GA for many years, retired as a compliance manager from Delta Airlines after faithfully working his entire career with that company, and had made his home in North Carolina since 2007. He enjoyed working in his shop, collecting gadgets, re-purposing items, and working on and rebuilding cars. He loved humor and was known to be a practical joker.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Yarbrough Veal of Winston-Salem; son, Christopher Lamar Veal and Erin Ventre, also of Winston-Salem; his mother Mildred C. Veal of Grantville, GA; sister, Charlene and Michael Stitcher of Woodbury. GA; and brother, Monroe and Janis Veal of Grantville. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Jeffie Veal; sister, Pearl Knott; and his father in-law and mother in-law, Paul and Charlcie Yarbrough.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, GA with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday.
