Henry Mathias Masten, 86, of Hendersonville, TN, born January 2, 1924 in Winston-Salem to John H. and Ola K. Masten, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and was retired from Goodwill Industries. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha W. Masten; parents; brothers, John E. Jones and Robert William (Brick) Masten; and grandson-in-law, Frank Isbell. Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Donnie Scott of Hendersonville, TN; brothers, F. David Masten of Kernersville and Richard K. Masten of Advance; granddaughters, Kelly (Tommy) Shatswell of Bethpage, TN and Tracy Isbell of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandson, Mitchell (Karren) Scott of Goodlettsville, TN; 11 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 24 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Forsyth Memorial Park.
