Henry Monroe Jones, Jr.

Henry Monroe Jones, Jr., age 86, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on May 17th, 2023. He was born October 23, 1936, in Forsyth County N.C. to the late Henry Monroe Jones, Sr. and Mamie Phelps Jones. Monroe was a lifelong member of Lewisville Baptist Church. He graduated from Lewisville High School with the class of 1955. He served two years in the US Army stationed in Korea. He was employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co., retiring after thirty years of service. Monroe had many interests which included researching family history, panning for gold in the NC mountains, and earning a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 50. Monroe was preceded in death by sisters Anna Hooker of Hope Mills, NC, Daisy Long of Pfafftown, NC and brother Tom Jones of Lewisville, NC. Monroe is survived by his wife of 64 years Judy Jones, daughter Allison Hollifield, son Jeff Jones, granddaughter Marie Hollifield, a brother Michael Jones (Toni) of Lewisville, and a sister Dorothy Faircloth also of Lewisville. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Lewisville Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Lewisville Baptist Church or Forsyth Humane Society.
