Kernersville -Henry Clay Flynt, Jr. age 74 of Kernersville passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 7, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Henry Clay, Sr. and Cora Grubbs Flynt. Henry retired from R J Reynolds Tobacco Company, after 33 years of service, was one of the founders of Kernersville Raiders, a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 940, an active member of First Baptist Church, where he also served as a Sunday School teacher, and was an avid Redskins fan. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Davis Flynt of the home; five children, Henry Clay Flynt, III (Susan H.) of Kernersville, Kiva Flynt Goad (Kenneth, Jr) of Advance, Clyde Dwayne Flynt (Melissa) of Walkertown, Darrell Thomas Flynt of Walkertown and Steven Clinard Flynt (Alicia) of Wallburg; one sister, Betty Ruth Flynt of Kernersville; eleven grandchildren, Molly Stoltz (Jeremy), Sean Flynt, Abby Flynt, Alan Goad, Jr. William Goad, Ross Flynt, Austin Flynt, Kali Flynt, Mason Flynt and Bailey Flynt; one great grandchild, Dash Stoltz; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Kernersville with Dr. Stephen Martin and Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, November 16, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
