Mrs. Helen Swink Wiles, 88, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Cleveland Co. on April 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Lee Hampton Swink and Willie Martin Swink. Helen was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in King. For many years she and her husband, operated Sea Wiles Motel in Kure Beach. Upon returning to this area, Helen was the supervisor at Honey Baked Ham for several years and then was a greeter at Chick-Fil-A on Hanes Mall Blvd. Everyone who met her, loved her! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Honey” Wiles; and two brothers, Evan Swink and Miles Swink. Helen is survived by a son, Jeffrey Scott Wiles (Lynn); a daughter, Debbie Wiles DiSantis; three grandchildren, Ashley Stephens (Robert), Cory R. Wiles (Angelica) and Julie Bean; two great-grandchildren, Ariel and Rhea Stephens; two sisters, Mary Ann Beam (Chuck) and Louise Cranford; and a brother, Clayton Swink. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in King with Pastor Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
