Helen Marie Parker Tucker

Mrs. Helen Marie Parker Tucker, 88, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Rose Tara Plantation in King. She was born on April 4, 1927 the daughter of the late Claude Wilkerson Parker, Sr. and Manie Estelle Brannon Parker Reid. Mrs. Tucker was retired from Western Electric with 35 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. She was an active member of the Lady's Auxiliary of VFW Post #10485 in Arcadia as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Tucker was also involved in Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministries. She enjoyed preparing the shoeboxes and always delivered her boxes herself. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, John William Tucker who passed away in 2008 and two brothers; Claude W. Parker, Jr. and Raymond Albert Parker. Mrs. Tucker is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Private entombment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mountain Valley Hospice or First Baptist Church of Stanleyville.
