Mrs. Helen Marie Blackburn Pardue, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022, at her residence. She was born on August 2, 1931, in Yadkin County to Talmadge William and Sallie Reece Blackburn. After many years of service, Helen retired from Bellsouth. She enjoyed any type of puzzle, but she especially liked crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and loved her Atlanta Braves. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Bueford “J.B.” Pardue; her daughter, Amy Pardue Haire; and three brothers, William Blackburn, Kenneth Blackburn, and Earl Blackburn.
She is survived by four children, Suzan Pardue Wade, Adrian Renee Pardue Kaspar (husband, Frank), Scott Pardue (wife, Barbara), and Tracey Pardue Nelson (husband, Dale); seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her sister, Edna B. Kelley; son-in-law, Eddie Haire; sister-in-law, Barbara Blackburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Helen’s name may be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or the American Heart Association at P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
