Helen H. ""Nannie"" Nichols, 91, of Winston-Salem went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on March 27, 1919 in Forsyth County to Curtis Lee Hester and Lucille Miller Hester. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She was a faithful member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. Nannie enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer I. Nichols and daughter, June N. Marshall. Survivors include her son, Don Nichols (Linda) of Winston-Salem; sisters, Gaynelle Crouse of King, Jacqueline Danner of Clemmons and Bennie Sanford (Robert) of W-S; grandchildren, Edie Lucas (Jim) of King, Todd Marshall (Susan) of Moyock, Terri Hoyle (Larry) of McLeansville, Lori McGuire (Jeff) of Kernersville, Eric Nichols (Jodi) of W-S and Jonathan Nichols (Traci) of Kernersville; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Nannie has fought a good fight, has finished her course and has kept the faith. Her funeral will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Tuesday, November 30 at 12:30 AM with the Rev. Larry Hoyle and Rev. Todd Haley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
