Helen E. Martin

Helen E. Martin, 90, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born January 16, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late C. E. and Bertha Parnell Martin. She was a member of Friedland Moravian Church and was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. She was preceded in death by her son, Luther Edmond Martin and a brother, Odell Martin and a sister, Ruth Rothrock. Surviving are a son, Bobby Martin and wife Judy of Lexington; a sister, Cassie Branch of Walkertown; a brother, Holland Martin and wife Dallas of Winston-Salem; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Cox Martin of King; two grandchildren, Vallie Martin and friend John Watts of Pinnacle and Danny Martin of Conway, SC; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Martin of Westfield and many special nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Friedland Moravian Church with the Rev. Carol A. Foltz officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Oaks at Forsyth and Hospice for their care and visits.
