Helen Faircloth Long

Mrs. Helen Blanche Faircloth Long, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born August 4, 1924 in Forsyth County to Thomas Frank and Stella Williams Faircloth. Mrs. Long was a member of Advent Moravian Church where she was also a member of the Fellowship Class and Women's Fellowship. She graduated from Clemmons High School in 1942, and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Industries in the Internal Audit Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Augustus Long; her parents; two brothers, Thomas Frank Faircloth, Jr. and Bill G. Faircloth; and an infant sister, Peggy Mae Faircloth. Surviving is a daughter, Carole L. Long; a son, Gary S. Long, both of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Brian S. Long and wife Kristen of Grayson, GA; two great grandchildren, Carson and Camryn Long; a sister, Joan F. Cockerham and husband Jack of Winston-Salem; four sisters-in-law, Jean Faircloth of Winston-Salem, Erika Faircloth of Rio Rico, AZ, Mae Smith of Oak Island, and Joan Furches of Atlanta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Tom Long and wife Emma of Advance, and Earl Long of Amarillo, TX; a cousin, Betty Zimmerman of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 18 at Advent Moravian Church with the Rev. Dan Conrad and the Rev. Roger Kimball officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
