Helen Petticord Hester

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Helen Petticord Hester, 91, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Piney Grove Nursing Center. Helen was born on January 25, 1922, in Forsyth County to the late Frank Keelen and Lula Harreld Petticord. She was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Hester; four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two sons, Norman Eugene Hester (Valeria) and Marshall Alan Hester (Sandy); one daughter, Lisa Jordan (Tim); five grandchildren, Sharon Petticord (Scott), Megan Simpson (Jeremy), and Morgan Hester, Michaela and Mitchell Jordan; one great grandchild, Braden Simpson. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Mullis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
