KERNERSVILLE-Helen Cates Evans, 81, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born April 3, 1930 in Forsyth Co. to the late Charles and Lula Pinnix Cates. Mrs. Evans was a member of Faith Tabernacle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Allen Evans; a son, Ronald Lee Evans; daughter, Judy Yvonne Hammond; three sisters, and three brothers. Surviving are three sons, Danny Lee Evans and wife Judy of Kernersville, Terry Allen Evans of Trinity, Ronnie Gray Evans and wife Jane of King; one daughter, Darlene Grubbs and husband Lee of Thomasville; two sisters, Dorothy Trivitte of Mocksville, Mary Jean Giles of King; eleven grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Michael Donaldson and Rev. Casey Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
