Helen Burlene Oldham Dimmette, 88 of Winston-Salem, NC, an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Helen was born January 11, 1924 in Forsyth County to the late Webster Ernest and Lucy Jane Barley Oldham. She was a lifetime member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church and was the youngest of 11 children. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Claude Dimmette, Sr., and her older siblings. Surviving to cherish her memory is a son; James Claude ""Bud"" Dimmette, Jr. and wife, Vicki of Winston-Salem, a daughter, Norma Denny of King, NC, two grandchildren, Anthony King of Winston-Salem, Angela ""Angie"" Picano and husband, Brett of Palm Springs, CA., a special nephew, Allen Oldham and special niece, Patty Vogler both of Winston-Salem. A Graveside Service will be conducted 1:30 pm Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Union Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Raines officiating. The Dimmette Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, March 16 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Ridge United Methodist Church , 3620 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to Hospice Palliative Care 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
