Mrs. Helen Marie Singelstad DeLooper, 96, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021.  She was born April 17, 1924, in Northwood Iowa, to the late Knut and Anna Singelstad.  In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Bishop DeLooper; five siblings: Martha Flugum, Hans Singelstad, Bertha Eide, Raymond Singelstad and Alfred Singelstad; and son-in-law, Richard Garvin.  She is survived by her four children: Linda Garvin, Bonita DeLooper (Ted Johnson), Norman DeLooper, Jr., and Karla Simmons (Dan): eight grandchildren: Jenny Whitfield (Marty), Christa DiBonaventura (John), Emily Zeis (Jon), Elizabeth Johnson-Young (Josh), Rick Garvin (Samantha), Joseph Simmons (Amy), Norman DeLooper III, and Andrea Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Adams, and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was an active member of Augsburg Lutheran Church having served as a member of the choir, the Quilting Ministry, the Women of the ELCA, and served as circle president.  Following retirement from Levin Spinnett & Company, LLP, Helen returned to the workforce for many more years at Wake Forest Baptist Health.  She was a long-time member and past president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (formerly PSI).  Helen loved to travel abroad with her husband, sewed beautiful clothes for herself and her daughters, enjoyed knitting, thought-provoking puzzles of all kinds, especially challenging crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader, keeping up with current national and global events, sports and politics.  She had a quick wit and a fabulous sense of humor that brought great joy to all who knew her.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Augsburg Lutheran Church, Outdoor Gathering Space Fund, 845 W 5th Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, or a charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
