Helen Stutts Davis, of Winston-Salem passed away Easter Day, April 12, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 20, 1926 to the late Nell Newman Stutts and F.O. Stutts. Mother was married 62 years to the love of her life, our dad, Gilbert E. Davis who preceded her in death in August, 2008. She was retired from the W-S Forsyth County School System, but her real passion was caring for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family. She and dad loved making chicken pies for their church. Mother and Dad found much peace and contentment in the simple things in life and were a great example to all who knew them by their love for each other, their family, and their church, Konnoak Hills Moravian. In addition to her parents and husband, mother was preceded in death by her infant great granddaughter, Morgan Hanson. Survivors include her children, Darrell E. Davis and wife Phyllis of Kernersville, Karen Key and husband Charlie of Advance, Sharen Graham and husband Max of Advance; her grandchildren, Stephen E. Davis and wife Mercedes, Melissa D. Hanson and husband Jay, Chase Key and Andrew Key, Max Graham III, Molly Graham and Mark Graham; a great grandchild, Samuel Hanson; brothers, Jack Stutts and wife Sue, Dennis Stutts and wife Judy; stepsister, Nancy Clark and husband Mitch; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with the Rev. John Rights. Burial will follow in Hopewell Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
