Helen Jones Butner

Butner Mrs. Helen Jones Butner, 94, of Advance passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at her home. She was born December 6, 1915 in Davie County to John Walker and Mattie Smith Jones. Mrs. Butner was a member of Macedonia Moravian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Butner, Sr., a daughter, Carol Fayedene Butner, a grandson, David Vann Smith and by three brothers, Fred Jones, Bill Jones and J.W. Jones, Jr. Surviving are three daughters, Jeanette Smith (David), Joyce Butner and Libby Cope (Kent) all of Advance; a son, Kenneth M. Butner, Jr. (Janice) of Arcadia; four grandchildren, Allyson McCachern of Savannah, GA., Brad Butner (Christi), Kevin Cope and Amy Hodges (Evan); three great grandchildren, Miller McCachern, Ellen Butner and Cameron Hodges; and a sister, Lois Hendrix of Mocksville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Macedonia Moravian Church with Rev. Jeff Carter and The Rt. Rev. Lane Sapp officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard.
