Hedrick Locklear

Hedrick Locklear, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in Winston-Salem. He was born to the late Graham Locklear and Nancy Scott Locklear on February 13, 1961, in Red Springs, NC. Hedrick was a dedicated and skillful worker in sheet rock installation and construction for all his life. He was a huge racing fan who often attended the races at Bowman Gray Stadium. In his free time, he loved to listen to his favorite artists, Clarence Carter, and Percy Sledge. In addition to his parents, Hedrick is preceded in death by his; wife, Mary Locklear; brothers, Graham Locklear, Jr., and Bobby Locklear; sisters, Patricia Locklear, Rita Locklear, Linda Locklear, Marie Bullard; and niece, Lucinda Locklear. He is survived by his children, Shannon Williams, Mitchell Locklear, Sheena Oldham (Steven), Ashley Stephan (Todd), Amanda Locklear, and ShaLynn Locklear; stepdaughter, Karen Rachel; stepson, LD Rachel; grandchildren, Ethan Warner, Bryson Locklear, Kayleigh Holmes, Mason Warner, Madison Holmes, Nina Stephan, Coy Gray, Brayden Holmes, Macy Stephan, Georgia Gray; Kaylay Rachel; nephews, Craig Locklear and Michael Locklear; nieces, Crystal Locklear, and Brittany Locklear; brothers, Ronald Locklear, Dwayne Locklear, Clyde Locklear, and Therman Locklear; girlfriend, Shannon Stark. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Francis Smith officiating.
