WINSTON-SALEM GENTRY Mrs. Hazeline Carter Gentry, 73, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Gentry was born in Yadkin County on September 16, 1935 the daughter of the late Thad and Ada Yates Carter. She was a charter member of Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall and had retired from Hanes Hosiery with 42 years of service. She was an avid cook and enjoyed doing things for her family, friends and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ray, Grady and Harold Carter. Surviving is her husband of 52 years James Robert Gentry of the home, a daughter Lisa Gentry (Harold) Hopkins of Kernersville, three grandchildren Hal David Hopkins, Daniel Hopkins and friend Sarah Ritchie and Heather Hopkins and fiancé©e Brandon Watson, one great granddaughter Chole Addison Hopkins, a sister Mrs. Helen Kiger of Jonesville and a brother Donald Carter of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, April 6, 2009 at Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall with Rev. John Byerly and Rev. Doug Anders officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The Gentry family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Sunday evening in the church sanctuary.
