Mrs. Hazel Geneva Little Simmons, 67, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Simmons was born in Washington County, Virginia on March 15, 1948, to the late Robert Woodrow Little and Lola Ennis Little. Hazel attended both Kernersville Full Gospel Mission Church and CrossLife Church of God. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Irvin Lumley, Sr.; a daughter, Ina Marie Lumley; and one sister, Shirley Paris. Hazel is survived by her husband, Lanny Gene Simmons of the home; two daughters, Debra Lumley Rafferty (Todd) of Lexington, NC and Angie Lumley Brown (Thomas) of Winston-Salem; one son, Earl Irvin Lumley, Jr. (Tayna) of Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Millard, Kayla Jones, Nicholas Rafferty, Courtney Arnder, Kaitlyn Hudson, Destiny Brown, Dominick Lumley and Elonna Boecke; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Adams, Lanetta Jones, Alycia Millard, Jaydin Russell and Justin Russell; five brothers, eight sisters, and numerous other loving family members. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at CrossLife Church of God in Winston-Salem with Pastor Dennis L. McCown and Pastor Garland Glascoe officiating. Interment will follow the services at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
