Hazel Laswell Green

Hazel Laswell Green, 87, of Lexington, Ky., died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Trinity Elms and Rehab.

Mrs. Green was born on Sept. 22, 1927, in Rockcastle County, Ky. She was a daughter of the late William O'Connell Bradley Laswell and Lura Cox Laswell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Everett Green Jr., and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Gary Martin Green of Winston-Salem, president of Forsyth Technical Community College; a daughter-in-law, Anne Wooten Green of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Diane Michele Green and David Everett Green, both of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Hattie Gray of Hamilton, Ohio, and Ethel Laswell of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Milward's Funeral Home-Southland in Lexington. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home, with burial in Richmond (Ky.) Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forsyth Technical Community College Foundation, 2100 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, N.C., 27103.
