High Point - Hazel Virginia Idol Dailey Garner, 93, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She was born September 20, 1918 in Forsyth Co. to the late Joseph Bertie and Julia Hedgecock Idol. Mrs. Garner was a member of Glenn View Baptist Church. Hazel worked for High Point Laundry, Burlington Mills, Mother and Daughter store, and Mayberry Restaurant before retiring at the age of 80. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in her flowers. Mostly she loved getting together with family and friends to talk and visit. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years, Ralph Jackson Dailey; her second husband, Dannie Garner; infant son, Michael Stephen Dailey; sisters, Pauline Motsinger, Helen Weavil, Opal Walton; brothers, Robert ""Bob"", John Richard, and Kenneth Hugh Idol. Surviving are her son, Lanny J. Dailey and wife Rebecca of Kernersville; granddaughters, Laura Dailey Smith, and Briana Dailey Underhill and husband, Scott; grandson, Lanny ""Joe"" Dailey, II; five great-grandchildren; sister, Berta Jean Hayworth;and brother, Donald Jefferson Idol. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:30 PM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Bobby Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2011 at the funeral home.
