Hayden C. Mock

Mr. Hayden C. Mock, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 22, 1925 in Davie County to Leon Blair Mock Sr. and Charlotte Howard Mock. Mr. Mock attended Grace Baptist Temple. He worked at Hillcrest Golf Course until he retired. He loved to play golf, and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Braswell Mock; his second wife, Anna Willett Mock; two brothers, William Cicero Mock and Leon B. Mock, Jr.; and a sister, Elsie Mock Howard. Surviving are one daughter, Gayle Shaver and special friend, Fairley Pope of Taylorsville; one son, Col. Steven W. Mock and wife Donna of Morehead City; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a special niece, Linda H. Walser and husband Fred of Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
