Harvey Tuttle

Mr. Harvey Tuttle, 82, of Germanton, died Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012 following a period of declining health. Mr. Tuttle was born December 30, 1929 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Grover Lester and Mattie Grubbs Tuttle. He was a well-known home builder in the area with Tuttle and Freeman Builders. In the community, he was a member of Stanleyville Civic Club and had been honored as ""Man of the Year"". Harvey Tuttle had an abiding faith in Christ, lived his life for others and was a true servant of God. He was a faithful member and Elder of Rural Hall Church of Christ, attending regularly as long as his health permitted. He found great comfort and enjoyment in God's creations, especially in working with the soil and gardening and taking an occasional saltwater fishing trip. Mr. Tuttle is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rachel Bridges Tuttle, of the home; three daughters whom he loved dearly, Sandra Tuttle of Kernersville, Marcia Tuttle Adams and husband Tony of Germanton and Anita Tuttle Clayton and husband Rickey L. of Rural Hall. Mr. Tuttle was a special ""granddaddy"" to his grandchildren, Misty Meadows and husband Mike and their children, Emery and Audrey, Molly Newman and husband Chad, and their daughter, Lilah, Kelli Mickey and husband Lee and their children, Jake and Seth, Bobby Sterling Clayton and Shannon Roxanne Clayton and their families. He is also survived by a special nephew, Reggie Tuttle. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2012 at Rural Hall Church of Christ. Peter Cain and Corey Thomas, ministers, will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 5:30-7:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will be 11:30 AM Saturday in Rural Hall Memorial Park.
