Mr. Harvey Allan Stoltz “Pawpaw”, 96, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. He was born on March 17, 1928, in Forsyth County to the late Ralph McCoy Stoltz and Ola Rosella Stoltz. Pawpaw retired from Carolane Propane after 25 years of service. He served as president of the North Carolina Propane Gas Association. His happy place was in his shop building furniture, framing pictures, and fixing whatever was broken. He was a “Jack of all trades”. He loved to have his grandchildren work with him in the shop. Pawpaw made several pieces of furniture for his family. If Mama Laur saw a picture of a piece of furniture she liked he would build it. He was married to the love of his life, Annie Laurie for 77 years. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and served his Lord as a Deacon, committee member, and helped build two church buildings and exc. He enjoyed bowling, spending time at the mountain house, working in the yard and garden with Mama Laur and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pawpaw was an avid fisherman and when asked where his favorite place to fish was he said “ The water”. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Laurie; twin daughters, Shirley Ann and Sharon Diane (died shortly after birth); sister, Betty Lou Stoltz; brothers, Robert “Buster” Stoltz, Randolph “ Jack” Stoltz, and Baby brother (died at birth); and granddaughter, Andrea Denise Stoltz. He is survived by one daughter, Cyntha Stigall (Jesse); a son, Doug Stoltz ( Kathy); grandchildren, Eric Stewart (Stacy), Laurie Barr (Nathaniel), Tessie Stoltz, Kristin Baker (Dusty), and Bethany Stoltz; great-grandchildren, Cody Morgan Stewart, Andrew Lee Baker, Westen Douglas Baker, Redding Stoltz Lee, and Kayce Allen Lusk. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Laurie Barr (granddaughter), Kim Tucker, Donna Pegram, Cheryl Pegram, Mary Pruit, Becky Davis, and Amanda Parrish. Their love, care, and compassion enabled Harvey to stay in his home. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Trellis Supportive care for the love and care that they showed. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 4, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with Dr. Rev. Virgil G. Dwyer, Jr. and Rev Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Baptist Children’s Home of North Carolina, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
