Harvey Wilson Myers, Jr.

Mr. Harvey Wilson Myers, Jr., 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born November 24, 1920 in Forsyth County to Harvey Wilson Myers, Sr. and Jeannette Ebert Myers. Mr. Myers was a member of Blaise Baptist Church. He was retired from Western Electric with many years of service. He loved working with wood and used to love to plant and work in his garden. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Evans Myers; a sister, Addie Jarvis; and a brother, F.E. Myers. Surviving are one daughter, S. Lynn Cavenaugh of Winston-Salem; one son, Steven R. Myers and wife Lynne of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Dylan A. Myers, Heather Wright, and Joseph Cavenaugh; five great grandchildren, Noah and Natalie Myers, Michael, Makenlee and Marshall Wright; and one sister, Dorothy Hastings of Walkertown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Jennings O'Neil and Pastor Timothy Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
