Harvey Wayne Groce, 83, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Harmony at Brookberry Farms Assisted Living.

Harvey was born on November 15, 1940 to the late Clinton and Audrey Howell Groce. He graduated from Gray High School. Harvey retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 35 years, where he was employed as a Machine Operator. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Harvey was an avid golf player and enjoyed woodworking and building. He enjoyed many trips to his beach home over the years with his wife Sandra and their family.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his daughter, Zina Connes; nephew, Steven Taylor; and brother-in-law, Gary Taylor.

Surviving family includes his wife of 37 years, Sandra Morris Groce; son, Kip Groce; sister, Janet Taylor; niece, Kathy Taylor; son-in-law, Lee Connes; grandchildren, Brandon and Nicole Connes; stepdaughters, Tammy Barnett (Greg) and Tina Spach (Will); step-grandchildren, Dylan Barnett, Kayla Motsinger (Dustin) and Sam and Anna Spach; and step-great-grandson, Greylin Motsinger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
