Harvey Dorsett

Mr. Harvey Bevins Dorsett, 96, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on December 28, 2022. He was born in Forsyth County, NC on February 16, 1926, to the late Everett Richard Dorsett and Ida Bevins Dorsett. Harvey was a beloved husband and father. He worked at McLean Trucking Company for many years before his retirement. Harvey served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He loved the Outer Banks, fishing, golfing and playing pool. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Harvey is survived by his loving wife Doris Priddy Dorsett; son Tommy Dorsett; daughter Yvonne Goco; very special grandson Nicolas Goco who was the apple of his eye; special nephew Greg (Cathy) O’Neill and their son Christopher; sister Alice Wahlfeldt; a close and dear friend Ronnie (Margie) Jones and their children Michelle and Christopher; and many very special nieces and nephews. He was a good man and a great man. A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Tuesday January 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM with ­­­­Rev. Eric Tang officiating. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek on Sunday January 1, 2023, from 2:00 PM-4:00PM.
