Mr. Harry Hoover Stevens, 93, passed away Wednesday November 1, 2023. He was born November 29, 1929, in Stokes County to the late Nick Stevens, Sr and Hildred Young Stevens. Harry was a hard working man who retired from Alltel after 31 years of service. He was a fantastic husband, father, and grandfather who was family oriented and actively involved with his church family. In addition to his parents Harry was preceded in death by five brothers; Winfred, Nick Jr., Clarence, Marshall, and Ronald, and a sister; Ruth George. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Dorothy Stevens, five children; Donald Stevens (Jane), Wes Stevens (Karen), Janice Stevens, Faye Stevens, and Emily Graham (Jamie), ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two brothers; Lowell Stevens, Edward Stevens. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the love care and support shown by family friends and neighbors during Harry’s time of need. In addition the family truly appreciates the love and care shown by Yancy Granados as part of her work with Home Loving Care. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday November 3, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Tobaccoville with Rev Derick Henson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Trellis Supportive care.
