Harry Spira

Harry Spira, 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2011. He was born on March 29, 1947 in Germany. After moving to the U.S. at the age of ten with his mother, he resided in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with his sister and brother and then moved to South Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dina Schulman. Harry is honored in memory by his bride (the love of his life) Felicia Spira of Winston Salem; his daughters Shani Oulton and her husband Bryan of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Amy Reilly and her husband Frank of Hobe Sound, Florida; three stepchildren, Brea Tato and her husband, Manuel, of Longwood, Florida; Rob Sperti II and his wife, Evangeline, of Clemmons, North Carolina; Vincent Sperti II of Lake Mary, Florida; three grandchildren, Frank Reilly, Jr., Tanner and Maci Oulton, eight stepgrandchildren, Ashleigh, Giovanni, Avianna and Annabella Tato; Jaxon and Grace Sperti; Preston and Peyton Sperti. He is also survived by a sister, Ida Ivan and husband Mike of Palm Bay, Florida and brother, Jack Spira and wife, Stella of Melbourne, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War having served as Door Gunner with the 170th assault helicopter company, Second Platoon known as Bikini Red. Mr. Spira owned and operated a towing/wrecker business in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Mr. Spira was a devoted member of Winston Salem First Assembly of God. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 24 at 5:00 pm at The Family Worship Center of Winston Salem First Assembly of God, 3730 University Parkway, Winston Salem, NC with Rev. Elwood Rakes and Rev. Rob Sperti officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
