Mr. Harry Donald Schultz, Sr, 81, of Winston-Salem passed away, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his home. Mr. Schultz was born in Erie, PA on February 1, 1929 to Harry Robert and Anna Elizabeth Kolar Schultz. He graduated from East High School in Erie, PA in 1948 and was a Scoutmaster at St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Church from 1958 to 1961. He moved to Winston-Salem in 1962, where he became a member of Parkway United Church of Christ. He served as Cubmaster of Pack 717 at First Presbyterian Church and as a Pack Committee member in the mid-sixties. Mr. Schultz was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Harry D. Schultz, II; and a brother, Elroy David Schultz. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ellen M. Schultz of the home; two sons, Jeff Schultz and wife Nancy of Wake Forest, NC, and Mark Schultz and wife Joan of King, NC; two daughters, Laurie Schultz of Julian, NC and Betsy Spetich and husband Martin of Hot Springs, AR; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Siedell and husband Matt of Wilmington, NC, Catherine Schultz of Nashville, TN, and Robert Schultz of King, NC; and three sisters, Janet Ward of CA, Joyce Sweet and Gayle McAdoo both of PA. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00pm, Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Parkway United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gene Derryberry officiating. There will be a reception in the fellowship hall following the service.
