Harry Pullen

Harry Pullen, 84, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 following a brief illness. He was born September 19, 1925 in Huntingdon, TN to the late James Nelson and Roe Hurt Pullen. Mr. Pullen was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville and a member of the Boyd Stafford Sunday school class. Harry was a US Army veteran having served during WWII. He retired from the US Postal service after more than 37 years of employment. Harry loved gardening and enjoyed playing the piano. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, George Pullen; and a sister, Mary Edwards. Surviving are his wife Carolyn J. Pullen; his son, Stan Pullen and wife Gina of Oak Ridge; three grandsons, Andy Pullen of Chantilly, VA, Jeff Pullen of Gainesville, VA, and Chase Pullen of Plainsboro, NJ. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, January 11, 2010 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff Patterson, Rev. Rick Carter, and Rev. Dale Hilton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to either the American Heart and Stroke Association, 202 Centreport Dr., Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409 or Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Main St., Kernersville, NC 27284.
