Harry Leake, Sr.

Mr. Harry Eugene Leake, Sr.,85, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Bermuda Commons Health and Rehab. He was born in Stokes Co. on April 9, 1936, the son of the late Japeth Reid Leake and Sadie Elizabeth Moran Leake. Mr. Leake owned and operated businesses in Winston-Salem for more than 60 years. He also was a driver in NASCAR for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Jean Leake. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Sain Leake; a son, Harry Leake, Jr. (Johnnie); two daughters, Sandra Riley (Gary) and Renae Kirkman; three grandchildren, Gary Leake, D.J. Jester and Celeste Kirkman; and one great-grandchild, Walker Jester. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
