Harry Dee Campbell

Harry Dee Campbell, 76, of King, NC passed away on November 7, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Abingdon, VA, to the late James L. Campbell and Helen Hinchey Campbell. After Mr. Campbell retired from the trucking industry, he continued to work as a skilled craftsman in construction and equipment restoration. His love of family, friends, and his service to God were reflected in his life and work for others. A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Stanleyville Mr. Campbell served on many committees and in many leadership roles. He is preceded in death by his son Mark Campbell and brother Jimmy Campbell. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy Roe Campbell; Children: Dr. Peggy Walters (Stan) of Durham, NC; Patsy Hall (Steve) of King, NC; Harry Campbell Jr. (Roxanne) of Lynchburg, VA; Sandra Sanderson (Larry) of Raleigh, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter- in-law Pat Goings Campbell; Grandchildren: Laura Baker, Stephanie Hall Bowling (Dr. Michael Bowling), Jessica Hall, Julie Hall Dow (Mark Dow), Brian Campbell, Victoria Campbell, Whitney Albert, Hilary Albert, Brooke Campbell; great granddaughter Adeline Campbell Bowling; brother David Campbell (Sue) Jacksonville, FL; sister Lynda Campbell, Abingdon, VA and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Stanleyville on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Offering at the First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston Salem, NC 27105, or Hospice/Palliative Care Center Stokes County.
