Harriett Ruth Earl Dutton

Mrs. Harriett Ruth Earl Dutton, 86, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 at her home. She was born on August 28, 1925 to the late Horace Earl, Sr. and Eva Mobley Earl. Harriett attended the Hamlet Hospital School of Nursing where she received a degree and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for 25 years at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was a member of Central Terrace United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother. Harriett enjoyed her travels across the United States and Canada with her husband, Charles Lindy in their motor home. They made many friends along the way and Harriett cherished those friendships all throughout the years. Preceding Harriett in death along with her parents are two brothers, Garland ""Pete"" Earl and Horace Earl, Jr.; and a sister, Eva Earl Johnson. Surviving Harriett are her loving husband, Charles Lindy Dutton, Sr. of the home; a son, Charles Lindy Dutton, Jr. of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Dorothea Dutton of Hamlet, NC; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor David DiMarco officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Richmond County Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Central Terrace United Methodist Church, 3 East Devonshire St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
