Harold Eugene Whitley

Kernersville - Mr. Harold Eugene Whitley died Thursday, March 5, 2015. He was born September 8, 1931, son of the late Arvil and Doris Vanderburg Whitley. Harold retired from Piedmont Carolina Landscaping and Nursery. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, traveling with his family, and was an active member of the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he held various offices during his lifetime. He served as a volunteer for the Prison Ministry program in several counties for more than 25 years and presented Jesus to many during his faithful service.

He is survived by his wife, Rena Achenbach Whitley and his son, Terry Wayne Whitley, both of Kernersville, North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church, Tri-City Christian Academy Bldg. Fund, P.O. Box 249, Kernersville, NC 27284. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Whitley family.
