Harold Gean Welch

Mr. Harold Gean Welch, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away July 31, 2017 at Trinity Elms Nursing Home in Clemmons, NC. Mr. Welch was born in Surry County to the late Brodis W. Welch and Thelma Peele Welch. He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Geraldine Chilton Welch; three children, son, Randy Welch and wife, Kathy Welch, daughter, Lisa Welch Watson and husband, Dennis Watson and son, Harold Scott Welch; four grandchildren, Lauren Welch Hamlett and husband Brian Hamlett, Morgan Welch Alexander and husband, Brian Alexander, McKenzie Welch and Cameron Watson; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Faith and Ashlynn Grace Hamlett and Thomas Welch Alexander; sister, Mary Lou Snow and husband, Edward Snow; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Chilton Baker. Mr. Welch was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Winston-Salem, NC. He retired from Pike Electric as a general foreman. Some of his accomplishments included installing the downtown electrical infrastructure in Winston-Salem in the 1960's, as well as, the electrical infrastructure for Hanes Mall, Forsyth Hospital, Winston-Salem State University, Salem College, Old Salem and Tanglewood. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and NASCAR. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 998 Hutton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, with Pastor Tim Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary.
