Harold Odell Watson

WATSON LEWISVILLE, NC-Mr. Harold Odell Watson, 87, of Lewisville, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his home. Mr. Watson was born on August 9, 1925 in Forsyth County, NC to Hubert Franklin Watson and Elsie Blackburn Watson. He loved living in the country and as a young boy he moved there and made it his home with his dear Uncle Atlee and Aunt Margaret Koontz. Harold was a long time faithful member of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Lewisville, NC and served in many capacities of the church. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company where he worked as a mechanic. He loved working with wood and made some pieces that he used in his home. Harold was an avid baseball fan and spent hours watching his beloved Atlanta Braves. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jacqueline Keicher, and a special cousin, Gary Koontz. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Mary Fearrington Watson of the home; two nieces, Deborah Hobson (Randy) of Pfafftown, NC and Diana Fearrington of Lynnwood, NC; one nephew, Doug Keicher (Pat) of Winston-Salem; a cousin, Reginald Koontz (Carol) of Winston-Salem, NC; and many other loving family members and his Shiloh Lutheran Church family. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Lewisville, NC with Rev. Gary Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Lutheran Church, 703 Lewisville-Vienna Rd., Lewisville, NC 27023 or Hospice of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
